"No member of this state shall be disfranchised..."                  -Minnesota Bill of Rights; Art. I, Sec. 2

Disenfranchise (to disfranchise):

To take away power or opportunities from a person or group.

"Nonpartisan 'basis' elections, as set forth in Minnesota Statute 204D, take both power and opportunities away from the voters, and thus, directly violate the Minnesota Bill of Rights!

Nonpartisan elections:

1. take POWER away from the voters by failing to disclose the party designations (of the candidates) ON THE BALLOT, with no justification;

Taking knowledge from the voters is the same as taking away their power!

2. take OPPORTUNITIES away from the voters by restricting choices and failing to guarantee that each political party (which puts forth a candidate in the primary) will be represented in the general election, with no justification.

"It is an essential part of democracy that minorities should be adequately represented. No real democracy, nothing but a false show of democracy, is possible without it."

- John Stuart Mill
