An important part of our pending federal lawsuit challenging Minnesota's Election Day registration practices seeks to protect vulnerable adults under guardianship by requiring courts to affirmatively assess their competency to vote.

Events during the 2010 election have played a fundamental role in illuminating how current statutes conflict with the Minnesota Constitution and how some vulnerable adults are placed at risk by the law.
