FREE PIZZA! Special Guest Speakers: Former Sec of State Mary Kiffmeyer Sec of State Candidate Dan “Doc” Severson Everyone is encouraged to attend! Volunteers and Guests Pizza served at 6:30PM, and meeting starts promptly at 7PM, Location: Home of Jenny Willard: 486 Mount Curve Blvd St. Paul, MN 55116 near St. Kates Photo I.D. is required for nearly every important transaction in life, including renting a rug doctor. It should also be required for voting. Who could oppose protecting the integrity of the vote?
Petition wording:
In all St. Paul elections for the offices of Mayor and City Council, and special elections held under the City Charter, voters voting in person must present a valid photo ID card prior to casting their ballot. Such Photo ID must be one of the following; a current Minnesota Driver License, State ID, an ID card issued by the U. S. Government, or a Tribal Government, all with a valid St. Paul voting residence. If a citizen cannot afford a photo ID, The City shall provide the means for the voter to obtain a Minnesota ID at no cost. It should be noted here that the U. S. Supreme Court recently upheld an Indiana law requiring photo I.D. (see Opinion)
Congressman Keith Ellison wrote a Star Tribune Op Ed commenting on the Court's decision. (see Ellison) (Our response)
We polled 250 voters in September 2008. A staggering 237 out of 250 strongly favored the photo ID requirement! A Rasmussen poll, October 2008, showed that 76% favor voter photo I.D.

Results will be reported when polling ends.
Protect the integrity of the vote through a photo I.D. requirement at the polls.
Stop Instant Runoff Voting (IRV). Despite proponent claims and media reports, the recent Supreme Court ruling DID NOT declare IRV to be constitutional.
Promote the preservation of our right to elect our Judges, which is now being threatened.
Restore partisan-basis municipal elections so each party can be represented.
We need to stop the erosion of our franchise rights.
Our surveys show that most voters said they had virtually "no clue" who they voted for in various municipal, school district and judicial elections.

“I support a photo ID requirement. ... Requiring one and giving it free of charge gives those at the poverty level a tool that enables them to independently participate in the economic process and the election process.”
- Andrew Young, former US State Rep, GA; Atlanta mayor and United States Ambassador
"I pledge to the voters of the State of Minnesota that I will support all efforts to institute a requirement to show photo I.D. to access a ballot in any election for public office in the state."
The Minnesota Voters Alliance is sponsoring an initiative to request all 490 statewide candidates sign the above pledge to protect voters and the integrity of elections. (See current tally)
